Troop 595 Upcomming Activities

Biking High Adventure

The Troop has planned a week of camping, hiking, backpacking, and biking in the beautiful highlands of southwestern Virginia. This trip includes a challenging High Adventure for the older Scouts, as well as a Troop Adventure. . . . a week of camping and activities open to all Scouts.

The goal of this activity is to provide the older Scouts with a truly challenging High Adventure that will test their skills and abilities, and to provide an alternative for all Scouts. . . the opportunity for camping and outdoor activities in one of the most scenic areas in the East!

1999 High Adventure

When: August 14-21, 1999

Who: Scouts age14 and older, and First Class or higher -Backpacking and biking experience necessary

Where: Grayson Highlands State Park - Mouth of Wilson, Virginia 24363

What: Bike hikes of 35 to 50 miles on New River and Viriginia Crepper Trails - Backpacking overnighters and hiking to the summit of Mt. Rodgers

Leaders: Eric Rosenbaum and Bryan Drey

Cost: Will advise. To inculde food and site fees.

1999 Troop Adventure

Mike Sheerer has volunteered to lead this group, but we need at least one more adult to make this trip possible.

This trip is planned for the same time and place, open to all Scouts, with an itinerary of camping, hiking, and biking, designed to suit the abilities of those attending.

Parents:

To make these trips possible, it is critical that we have adult leaders and driviers. Deadline for signups and $25 deposit is June 28, 1999.
